About
Mattaniah Aytenfsu is a new media artist, designer, and engineer based in Brooklyn, NY. Using code as her primary medium, she builds generative work that turns data into something felt rather than explained, from kinetic steel sculptures driven by archival eclipse records to live, algorithmically-driven visuals performed in real time. Her practice works to externalize the internal: making the systems we live inside, whether cosmic, personal, or inherited, visible enough to reflect on.
Her art has been presented during Sundance Film Festival and Gray Area, and featured in Forbes and Refinery29. She is currently a member of the New Museum's NEW INC Year 11 + 12 cohort, and recently taught at the School for Poetic Computation. She spent five years as a design engineer at Google and works as a Creative Technologist at Le Truc.
